Nerd alert. Seriously. I have friends who will think this is the coolest thing ever, but rest assured when they can’t control their excitement we’ll make sure to take them out behind the gym and smack them around a little before we all get on our bikes and ride home from school. Oh wait, we’re adults. That doesn’t make it better. But I digress. Check out this cool and creative welding project that will turn the crank of any Star Wars fan out there, and will also keep you warm and toasty and well fed too! But even if you aren’t a fan of space movies, you’ll appreciate the creativity and skill that goes into making this sucker.

Most of this project is made from scrap pieces, or pretty standard materials, along with a few well placed car parts. And despite the fact that the builder uses a hydraulic shear, brake, and a power roller you could do the same thing at home with just an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel and your welder.
