Unable to purchase remote engine start from ConnectedDrive Store

Hi All,

Took delivery of X7 M50i last week, great car to drive!

However, there is always some option / additional features you should have go with it when you place the order but didn’t.

Remote engine start is one of it.

I, then found out that I can actually purchase it from the ConnectedDrive Store post delivery, but I was getting error while checking out.

The error is ‘Unfortunately the digital service is not available for this vehicle.’

I have checked all the data privacy in the car’s setting .

Below is the email respond from the BMW ConnectedDrive Team.

Depending on the production date, country of delivery, the software version of your BMW and the optional equipment booked, the Digital Service “Remote Engine Start” (SA 1CR) can be booked ex-works or rebooked in the BMW Shop.

Upon checking the VIN: WBACX620609Lxxxxx, we regret to inform you that the vehicle does not meet the necessary hardware installed to have Remote Engine Start. The reason why you are unable to check out this service for your vehicle.

I’m not 100% convince on this. Can any of you shed some lights on this?
