I love Project Binky, and I have since the very first episode I ever watched which was probably a handful into the build. These guys are some of the most inspiring builders you’ll find, not only because they are crazy talented and creative, but also fun and good to laugh at. And maybe it’s been a little longer than 7 years. Getting closer to 8 actually, but who’s counting. EVERYONE is the answer, as folks have been chomping at the bit to see Binky painted finally. Well, in their defense, the boys had a bit of a delay called COVID-19. You see, the car was ready for the bodyshop a year ago, and then COVID hit and things got crazy and then stuff couldn’t get worked on so it just sat. Finally, when they were allowed to work on it again, it got weeks and weeks of work to make it what it is today. It is just a painted shell mind you, but virtually everything else is ready to be bolted back in after being freshened, painted, and plated in preparation for this moment. It’s going to be glorious when it is done, regardless of whether they joke about it ending up wrapped around a tree.

The boys are Rally drivers you see, so that is why Binky is what it is. It is a classic Mini, that’s for sure, but with insane changes to the chassis/body in order to mate a Celica GT all-wheel drive system into it with big power and all the handling prowess you can imagine. Of course these two will absolutely throw it around on dirt roads before too long, but at the moment it is sexy and pretty and we just want them to make it make the noise.
