Mercedes-AMG Edition 55 special models set for Australia

To celebrate the 55th anniversary of Mercedes-AMG, two special Edition 55 versions of the A45 S 4MATIC+ hatchback and CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ coupe are headed for Australia. Both will score an array of unique equipment and features.

Available in two colours, Cosmos Black Metallic and Digital White Metallic, to emphasise exclusivity, the duo will ride on 19-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels, along with traditional AMG emblems.

Additional Edition 55 equipment comes in the form of an AMG aerodynamics package, comprised of a front apron mated to a larger front splitter, an AMG rear wing, as well as wind deflector elements at the side outlets of the rear apron and rear diffuser.

All of the included aero painted in high-gloss black, and has been developed and tested in a wind tunnel to improve the car’s behaviour at higher speeds. The AMG Night and Night II package also enhance the dynamic appearance of the “Edition 55” models.

The front splitter and the trim elements on the louvres in the outer air intakes, plus the inserts in the AMG side sill panels, the beltline trim strip, the window line trim strip and the exterior mirror housings are finished in high-gloss black.

In addition, there are tailpipe trims in black chrome and heat-insulating dark tinted glass. The louvres in the AMG-specific radiator grille in black chrome and the model badges on the boot lid and wings in high-gloss black complete the exclusive appearance.

The interior is individualised with AMG Performance seats, upholstered in two-tone red and black leather, while an AMG Performance steering wheel in Dinamica microfibre finish features an “Edition 55” badge and black top markers.

The interior is completed with AMG door sill panels with red illuminated lettering and black floor mats, with the latter finished in velour with red stitching and “Edition 55” lettering.

Buyers will also receive a customised AMG indoor car cover in elegant black with a silver AMG logo, with breathable outer panelling and tear-resistant fibre.
