If you’re a true fan of early AMG-built cars, you will immediately recognize just how special this particular SEC is. One of only 50 built by the original AMG, which was a non-affiliated aftermarket tuner of Mercedes-Benz vehicles at the time, this 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC AMG 6.0 is one of the coolest cars we’ve seen hit the auction block recently.

Aside from the unapologetically aggressive wide body kit, the handy work of Affalterbach’s finest includes modifications to the interior as well. In place of the stock steering wheel, you will find an AMG-branded Momo steering wheel, some custom leather upholstery, as well as AMG badging around the cabin. Although it does show minimal wear, the interior of this AMG masterpiece looks to be in amazing shape for a car that is 32 years old!

Performance Upgrades

The RM Sotheby’s listing’s extensive photo gallery is a treat on the eyes. Thorough photographic evidence shows every inch of the engine bay that surrounds the AMG 6.0-liter V8. Aside from the reworked motor, AMG’s performance touches include 4-piston brakes and ‘AMG by Bilstein’ shocks. And the drool-worthy AMG monoblock wheels are just icing on the cake.
