Brabus has worked its magic on the new Mercedes-AMG A 45 S. the hot hatch is now even more potent and bears a brand-new name.
Brabus chose the B45-450 designation for the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S that they worked on. New engine mapping and a new Brabus PowerXtra CPC auxiliary control unit work together with a Brabus BoostXtra adapter and a special duct for the airbox.
The model, powered by the most powerful 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo ever, now gets extra 29 horsepower and 50 Nm of torque going all the way to 450 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. The output thus explains the new designation.
The German tuner claims that the car is now capable of running from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds. The standard figures clock at 3.9 seconds. There is no change on the top speed of 270 km/h.
Brabus styling makes the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S more aggressive
The model in designo mountain grey magno comes with several tweaks that enhance aerodynamics and provide it with a more aggressive look. There are now stripes in the front grille and black lettering on the wings and rear.
Height-adjustable sports springs get the hot hatch closer to the ground by up to 30 millimeters. The model also gets a set of tailor-made Monoblock Z 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels with 245/30 Continental tires. Brabus accounts them with “outstanding strength and lightweight construction”.
The experts in tuning worked on the interior as well. So there is the Brabus logo just about anywhere. The side sills now feature stainless steel scuff plates with the emblem as well. They feature illumination in 64 different colors, in coordination with the ambient lighting of the car. There are Brabus aluminum pedals and velour floor mats for the extra sporty atmosphere.
If customers are willing to pay, the Germans also offer the option of an exclusive leather interior in just about any color and upholstery design.
The company offers a three-year warranty following the TUV homologation test.
