Just when you thought it was safe to go outside, MAHLE Motorsport drops an innovative new LS Piston design on the world! This is really cool and it’s brilliant thinking not just for engine builders but for the enthusiast who is building an engine and may want the bottom end to stay constant while the top end gets upgraded over time. Because these new LS Combo PowerPak pistons have a valve pocket design that can handle LS1/LS2/LS5/LS7, LS3, and 92 style heads, you can use them as you evolve your top end program over time and not have to worry about valve interference.
For engine builders out there, these things are like manna from heaven. Why? This will allow a builder to have multiple builds going at once and the ability to have a shelf-stock piston to work across the board. Yes, some engines will need custom designs but these pistons cover such a wide swath of the LS world, they’ll allow to quicker turn around times and a more efficient process at the shop when you don’t have to order specific pistons and wait on shipping, etc.
